RULES
-
Each group must make three marble runs which must be 33 centimetres high and 19 centimetres wide. This is the size of a ladies shoebox and your teacher will have boxes and lids this size that you can use or you can design your own.
-
Each marble run must be faster or slower than the other two runs.
-
Each marble run must have a collection cup at the end of the run so the marble stays in the marble run and does not roll across the floor e.g. a small box or one cardboard egg holder.
-
The marble cannot freefall from the top to the bottom, it must roll down a run onto another run.
-
You can use any material that you wish but you need to be aware of how environmentally friendly your marble runs are and consider more environmentally friendly alternatives.
-
You will be supplied with a stopwatch to time your marble runs and experiment with different materials and designs.
-
All group members must write their own individual blog, give feedback and design their own initial marble runs.
-
Group members cannot move to the Finished page until they have finished creating their marble run and finished blogging.
-
There will be prizes awarded to the fastest, slowest and most environmentally friendly marble run and the teacher's decision is final.
-
Group members must work as a team at all times and be aware of our team work rules!
